The level of interplay that the group achieved in a very short amount of time is remarkable...
-Earshot Magazine

Comprised of musicians from all corners of North America, Tunnel Six was formed when its members were attending the 2009 International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music at the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada. Touring across the U.S. and Canada in 2010 solidified the band's approach to the eclectic mix of original compositions, creating a loose yet very cohesive group aesthetic. From the free-wheeling group interplay on "Tunnel Mountain" and "Moose Warrior" to the more introspective "Song for Masha," Lake Superior captures the forward-thinking dynamic of these inspired musicians.

Cadence (David Franklin)
For a group of players that individually live all over North America, Tunnel Six shows remarkably skillful ensemble interaction. This is the first recording by the band, whose members first played together at a Jazz Workshop at the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada, in 2009, although they have toured in both Canada and the United States. Their comp ...

eMusic Featured Album (Dave Sumner)
When the members of an ensemble sacrifice all selfish thought and throw their entire weight behind the compositions of others, it's a transcendent moment, almost spiritual. There is a sense of a something greater than the sum of the individual parts when an ensemble serves the purposes of the soloist, while that soloist, simultaneously, plays his h ...
