OA2 Records was created in 2002 by Seattle drummers John Bishop and Matt Jorgensen. With the strength of Origin Records behind it, OA2 has focused on a broad array of musical statements from a wide range of artists. The label seeks to find avenues that will help make producing jazz recordings a viable career move and, for independent artists interested in being part of a larger collective, provide a forum to connect and build a community.
The Origin/OA2 catalog now boasts over 150 releases from artists who share the common goal of an ever-evolving musicians community.
OA2 Records accepts unsolicited demos at the address below.

Since the Fall of 2003 Origin Records has produced the Ballard Jazz Festival. This event has brought world-class artists to Seattle, to share the stage with some of the Northwest's finest musicians. Expanding in 2004 to include the Brotherhood of the Drum concert series, the Ballard Jazz Festival continues to grow, and in 2005 the award for "Northwest Concert of The Year" by Earshot Magazine was given to the Joe Locke / Geoffrey Keezer Group's performance, now available on CD here.
